Subaru from .hack//SIGN dancing with the castanets as the sond from the anime "in the land of twillight under the moon". I've never seen the anime and will not pretend to have seen it but I do love the music and want to see the anime. I am also well aware of the fact that this may be out of character for her but sometimes the most unique pieces come from that ne? The pose is something I took from a picture of an actual lady dancing with these shells while in class. So I hope you guys enjoy and please feel free to leave constructive criticism, I'm trying to get better. Since I forgot to mention it and I guess it's not sort-of implied, she's dancing by a fire really really late at night. Small fire too, so there's not a total huge amount of light.

why is there no value changes in her wings? Thats one of my deals. It makes it stick out too much. Another thing is, where the dark value of the dress ends, it just continues onto the thing she standing on. THat looks odd. The shadow should sorta go..'under' her rather than away from her. Theres also not just supposed to be shading on her side. Think about what other objects might cast shadow on her body, like her boobs, and creases in the dress, her necklace, the bottom of her top. Also try highlighting other places other than hair.

ah you're right no shading in the wings :shrug: Also generally since you went out of your way to point out the negative things wouldn't you also say what I wouldn't mess that up next time? The only light source was the fire which I mentioned in the discription, so yes my shading was in place according to actual photos of people doing this but as for the other little things I'd thought it was done pretty well and liked it. Thanks for your critique.
